This is a tie-back version of the Lacy Shells Headwarmer - adult size
here. I was trying to make it in baby size, since it would be a super cute photo prop, or a headband for a special event. But I knew the buttons would dig into baby's head, so I switched it to a tie-back. What came about was different enough that I thought it would be worth doing in adult size, too! I love tiebacks - they are great gifts, since you don't have to have the exact size. And they are quick to make, so you can make bunches of them as accessories.
The baby size will stretch enough to work on a little kid - pictured below is my 2yo in the baby size. Isn't she cute? And the adult size will work on a bigger kid, the back of the thick part just almost touched on my 4yo's head.

Size 4 mm/G6 hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
