Free Pattern: Open Stitch Hat - Premie

Love this in the tiny premie size.  The precious bow is from a wonderful Etsy shop... Sew Whimsey.

Supplies:
Worsted Weight Yarn (I used 'I Love This Cotton' by Hobby Lobby)
Size 5mm (H/8) hook
Opt tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
Ch - chain
Dc - double crochet
Sl st - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet

Instructions:
Round 1: Magic Ring, ch 3.  10 dc inside ring.  Pull ring tight to close.   Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.
Round 2: Ch 3.  2 dc in each dc.   Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.  (20 dc)
Round 3: Ch 3.  *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.  (30 dc)
Round 4: Ch 3.  *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 5 dc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.  (35 dc)
Round 5: Ch 3.  Dc in first dc, ch 1.  *Skip one dc.  Dc, ch 1.  Repeat from * around.  Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.  Sl st backward (or forward if it's easier for you) into ch-1 space.
Rounds 6-8: Ch 3. In each ch-1 space around, [dc, ch 1].  Join with sl st to top ch of ch 3.  Sl st backward (or forward if it's easier for you) into ch-1 space.
Round 9: Ch 1.  Sc in each dc and ch-1 space.  (35 sc)
Round 10: Ch 1.  Sc in each sc around.  (35 sc)  Finish off, weave in ends.  Decorate!

    1. I used the Hobby Lobby brand cotton yarn, I Love This Cotton. I'm not sure what the color name is, but it's a tan color.

  3. I've been looking for a good, easy to follow pattern for a baby hat for months. This one is so easy and it turns out beautifully! I just made it in about 35 mins. Thank you for the pattern!
