I love this one! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern. Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteHi alli I absolutely love all of your beanie patterns and find they work up really quick which is what I love! However I was wondering if you could help me with what to do to make the beanies for a toddler and a 6 year old?? I would love to make these beanies (the button flap) for my daughter who is two and my niece who is 6! So that they are matching!! If you could just let me know the appropriate increases that would be great I always seem to increase too much! Thanks so much in advance!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the sizing and increases tab for more info on that.
ReplyDeleteHi Alli! I LOVE all your hat patterns! I have a quick question about this one. In the picture the button flap seems to close in the reverse direction. How do I get mine to do that? I'm sorry if that's a silly question, I'm new to making hats like this and I'm not familiar with being able to reverse pattern directions etc. My hats that I've made like this close to the left and open to the right (like in the Newborn pattern picture). Is there a way to get it to reverse? Thanks for any help you can provide! You do beautiful work!

If you want the flap to go the other way, you have to make sure you go the way you want to on row 10. If it's going the wrong way, pull it out and when you've done the stitches on the flap, flip it over to go the way you want it to go and then continue on with the round. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!! I'll give that a try when making my next hat!

I am having the same exact issue! Help would be greatly appreciated ;) Amanda@acreativestring.com
DeleteMe too. I'm having the exact same problem. Please Alli, what are we doing wrong?
Deletedid anyone get an answer to this question I have the same problem and I am feeling like the answer is simple and in front of me but I can't figure it out
DeleteYou guys... I was having this problem. I'm so excited that I just figured it out! I just sat here for so long trying to figure it out.
DeleteI was stopping at the flap and turning. That's what you're NOT supposed to do. Continue your fpdc/bpdc all the way to the end of the flap. THEN turn. :)
Ahhhh, thank you! A picture tuturoial would be super helpful on this part I think.
DeleteThanks for sharing! I love your patterns!
ReplyDeletelove the hat.Just made it for my Great Granddaughter. Thanks for sharing the pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern! Easy to follow and adorable when complete. One change I made was to join to the dc each round instead of the chain 3, then on the next round I still chain 3 and Dc in the first Dc. It hides the chain 3 in the seam and does not alter the rest of the pattern. It was something I learned when making a different hat (though I can't remember who to give credit for learning it). Not sure if you have tried it but figured I'd share. Looking forward to trying another pattern soon! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust LOVE your crochet patterns, mainly the hats, Alli! Thanks a lot for sharing! <3
