Free Pattern: Plarn Wet Swimsuit Pouch
Wet swimsuits are annoying, especially when you have to stick them back in a bag full of other things, like dry diapers and snacks. This plarn pouch keeps the wet suits from soaking the other things in the bag, but it breathes, so that the suits won't get stinky quite so fast if you forget to take them out!
This is the first plarn project I've finished. Plarn is pretty tough to work with, so make sure you give your wrists plenty of breaks!

Free Pattern: Crown - Size 12 Months
Newborn size here.
2T size here.
I made a crown for an Etsy friend, whose little one is turning one around the same time as my #2! For these special little guys, I adjusted the crown pattern by scaling it back to five points instead of six. I used a closed cluster stitch (popcorn stitch?) this time, which resulted in not needing the fifth row in the point. I also tried out using two colors in the crown, which really made the detail pop. Using two colors is not for the faint of heart, however, because there were tons of ends to weave in. I'm really pleased with the way it came out.

Free Pattern: No-sew Rose
The prevailing method for making a crochet rose is to make a scalloped strip, roll it up, and sew it shut. I just couldn't get mine to roll up the way I wanted, and I was really dreading sewing it all shut at the bottom, so I worked out this rose pattern - it's flat on the bottom, which makes it more streamlined for embellishing hats, and the petals will always line up the same way. Which could be a strength or a weakness, depending on how you look at it. :)
I made this rose in a larger size here.

Free Pattern: Deeply Textured Hat - Newborn
Premie size here.
3-month size here.
6-month size here.
9-12-month size here.
Toddler size here.
This hat is a modification from the adult-sized deeply textured hat from The Laughing Willow. I made the adult hat for myself and for my sister, and I love the texture! I changed (and clarified a bit) her pattern, to make this cushy, toasty hat for a newborn.
